Executive summary: Subjective probability

Italian statistician Bruno de Finetti contributed to the theory and foundations of subjective probability, and advanced the application of mathematics to actuarial questions and to bureaucratic organizational techniques. He also pioneered the concepts of �exchangeability� or �exchangeable events", and developed de Finetti's theorem on exchangeable sequences of random variables. After college but before beginning his academic career, he worked for several years in the actuarial department of an insurance company, where he developed some of the earliest mechanized actuarial methods.
