Jamie Kennedy AKA James Harvey Kennedy Born: 25-May-1970 Birthplace: Upper Darby, PA
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor, Comic Nationality: United States Executive summary: Scream, Malibu's Most Wanted After high school Kennedy came to Southern California, where he started doing stand-up on open-mike nights. He worked as a busboy, telemarketer, scraped gum off the floor at a K-Mart, and was briefly a backstage gopher on Tony Danza's Who's the Boss? To get paying gigs in comedy, Kennedy called comedy clubs in the gravelly-voiced persona of his own imaginary agent. "I'd make calls as him and say, 'This kid's hot! A cross between Robby Benson and James Woods. What can you do for me?' It worked." Kennedy made his film debut at 19, as an extra in Robin Williams's Dead Poet's Society. It was seven years before he landed his first real role, as a fuchsia-haired thug in the 1996 Romeo + Juliet.
On his Jamie Kennedy Experiment TV show, he wore different disguises and personas quite effectively -- Kennedy as a white rapper, a Hollywood tour guide, a senile photographer, a black woman talk show host -- leaving ordinary people bewildered, Candid Camera-style. "You've been X'd," he would finally shout. One woman sued after being X'd. She thought she was coming to a restaurant for a job interview, and instead found herself in the middle of a brawl between the restaurant manager (Kennedy) and two actors pretending to be irate customers. As of 2005, Experiment has been cancelled but the lawsuit hasn't yet made it to court.
