An explosion occurs at an alternative energy research center; bumbling Det. Frank Drebin is assigned to the case and discovers a deeper conspiracy masterminded by a sociopath industrialist to kidnap presidential energy adviser Prof. Mainheimer. Making matters worse, Drebin's ex, Jane, is deeply entangled. Fast-paced slapstick, plot relatively unimportant. Very funny sequel and worthy successor to The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988).
